Home Storage Ideas

I have looked and looked and can’t find replacement doors for my kitchen cabinets in my 1998 Fleetwood Festiva home. They are so cheap looking and have been warped by water damage. Anyone have any ideas?

Its a matter of lower end costs and not sure whether in the end to go locally to Home Hardware or to the big city Home Depot and maybe get a better deal worth the hassle.

My kitchen has autumn maple cabinets with blackstar granite laminate countertops. My kitchen doesn’t really have any walls but is open to the morning room and family room. My furniture in the family room is brown leather and morning room table is a creme color. I need some advice on what color to paint these rooms? Do I paint them differnet colors or the same?

Forgot to metion that my family room has a beige carpet and the rest has a neutral slate vinyl flooring.

Husband & I just bought a condo… It’s our first home thus ecstatic.

Background info on colors: the kitchen cabinets are a lighter cherry wood with stainless steel appliances, counter tops are a medium beigh & floors are bamboo. We have a dark cherry wood dining table (no chairs though), dark cherry coffee table & pillars as tempuary side tables. Also, a light wooden table with light granite. Walls are neutral with white molding.

The living room is rectangular in shape & split in ’1/2′ via a couch. So, my questions are:
1. what kind/color scheme should I do for the living room?
2. what should I put in the back corner to make the living room not empty?

Hope this all makes sense. Desperately looking for help/ideas/suggestions.

Husband & I were just thinking of adding a small table & chairs to use as a nook. Or put a chaise there.

Why splitting:
We felt we had to split the room due to the fact that the only cable outlet was at 1 end of the room. I wish I could attach pictures. Here’s what the room looks like. Colors are NOT the same.

We really like the paint so aren’t changing it. We haven’t gotten wall art yet just because I don’t know what to do with the room. As for toss pillows, we only have 2 so far (want to add more)… similar to the color of the following link:

Does any one here know if and how I could reface or refinish my old and ugly looking ply wood laminated kitchen cabinets ?

I did visit some local home stores and they seem to suggest nothing but a backbreaking expensive solution of getting my kitchen renovated…Just the cabinet estimates that I received were some whopping 12 k …phewww….Is there any other alternative for me….I wish I was one of the lucky winners of Spice up my kitchen or similar shows…sigh..;-(

Can some one here suggest, how I can reface or refinish my already formaica / ply lamintaed cabinets (BTW they are laminated from inside too ;-( ???

My fiance and I are looking for a cheap property that we can live in while we finish school but can use as a rental once we are able to actually purchase a nice home. We found a 2 bed, 1 bath for 35,000. It’s got 1,120 square feet and the owners have started to remodel a bit. It looks like there is new carpet and a fresh coat of paint throughout the house. However, the outside needs repainted and the roof probably needs redone. On the inside, the kitchen needs new floors, cabinets need stained, the ceilings need redone, a new tub needs to be installed, new floors in the bathroom. My question is.. does this sound worth it? We’re both handy people and are looking forward to all the renovations and with such a cheap house payment it’d be easier to pay for. The only thing that scares me is that since it’s an older home there will be asbestos in the ceiling. Idk.. I’m just wanting everyone’s opinions. Thanks again

My wife and I are interesting in purchasing our first home. Its a typical first "starter" home that needs to be updated (built in the 50′s and kind of left then).

There is the washer and dryer in the kitchen, which we aren’t big on. What’s involved in moving the pair into the basement, which is directly under the kitchen?

The cabinets are outdated and need to be changed out. The old tiles are 12 x 12 in the kitchen and our agent said that they might be asbestos…can we put laminate over these without worrying about getting asbestos released??

6 month new home. Odor in guest bath , two months later in master bath.
Builder said it was the marble. Marble sink tops were replaced but still the odor. Marble co. said they never had the problem before. Could it be the cabinet wood but kitchen has the same wood and no order. Custom cabinets.
