how to remove cockroach smell in wooden cabinets?
My kitchen and bathroom wooden cabinets and drawers emit a horrible roach smell when opened. I clean them often with Dawn and borax but it doesn’t seem to help. I use powdered boric acid and it’s pretty effective, but it really doesn’t take the smell away well enough. I’m very sensitive to foul odors like cigarette smoke, mold and mildew, too much perfume/cologne, and this. Please advise because I’m am desperate. It’s embarrassing to have family and friends visit because I like to have them make themselves at home, and that includes making their own meals and messes.
are you ok ?????? honey roaches don’t have a smell . . Lol I mean damn you sound like you have OCD baaaad . man I hope you don’t walk around with a surgeon mask on in your house so you don’t "smell" the roaches.
Roaches do have a smell, and it’s a very distinct odor for those of us who recognize it.
It may not be pleasant at the time, but have you tried ammonia or vinegar? I can’t remember which one I used to clean the smell out of my ex’s apartment but one of them worked pretty well. Maybe what would be best for you would be to wipe down everything with ammonia or vinegar (I think it was vinegar that worked to be honest, but I know we tried both) then open your windows and cabinets and go stay with a friend for a couple days.
Remember, they get into EVERYTHING so be sure to clean under and behind all appliances and even the ceiling and bottom of shelves. No place is safe from those little buggers.
